This lefty Huss and Dalton 00-SP Custom features back and sides made with beautifully figured cocobolo, a slotted peghead and pyramid bridge. Cocobolo is a rosewood that is said to be tonally close to the coveted Brazilian, and every bit as beautiful. Rich dark browns and swirls that tinge to black, red and burnt orange make it a feast for the eyes, and the ears. The folks at Huss and Dalton suggested doing the fingerboard and bridge in cocobolo, as well, and the results are spectacular, as the figured fingerboard shades darker toward the treble strings. This lefty Huss and Dalton Road Series OM is a remarkable guitar for the price, built in their Staunton, VA shop right along side the more expensive guitars, with simpler appointments and woods, but giving up nothing in tone or build quality. This example has a sitka top with some bearclaw, very nicely figured Indian rosewood back, sides, pegged, bridge and fingerboard, pearl dot inlays and pegged logo, Gotoh tuners, tortoise pickguard, matte finish overall with a gloss finish on the top. Here we have a beautiful lefty Huss and Dalton CM Custom, Australian Blackwood with an Englemann top. The first Huss and Dalton I ever had the pleasure of sampling was a CM model. I was smitten. I had the fine folks in Staunton, VA build me this one without the cutaway. Think smaller, more comfortable dreadnought and you're on the right track. The deeper body helps accentuate the bass. This gorgeous lefty Traditional OM from Huss and Dalton sports a bearclaw Italian spruce top over some beautifully figured black walnut. We did the neck in black walnut, as well. Tortoise binding, Waverly tuners and subtle diamond fingerboard inlays give it an understated elegance. This is a light, responsive guitar with a clear tone that just sings in your hands. It's just hard to put this guitar back in the case. Lifetime warranty and a great Huss and Dalton case.
