This is a beautiful Tele … lightly reliced with the gold finish beautifully checked. A stunner. Note that the camera lighting over-emphasizes the checking, so I included a natural light shot on the bench, and the shot of the front and back together are a more typical view. You see the checking at certain angles.
An instrument that looks as breathtaking as it sounds, the Limited Edition Closet Classic HLE Gold Telecaster is a sterling example of the Custom Shop’s mastery of their craft. Inspired by a custom Strat created in the ‘50s for Homer Haynes, this golden gem of a guitar is a loving tribute to the first limited-edition Custom Shop model, released in 1987.
Two single-coil hand-wound Custom Shop ’58 Telecaster pickups provide classic, genuine Fender tone; the snarling bridge pickup and warm neck pickup work in tandem to match any style of music. The two-piece ash body was hand-selected for both weight and tone, and wears a lacquer finish over its gleaming paint job—just like the elegant original.
Other features include a striking AAA flame maple neck with a comfortable ’57 “Soft V”-shaped profile, 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard, three-saddle American Vintage string-through-body Tele bridge with solid steel barrel saddles, gold hardware, 21 6105 frets, gold anodized pickguard, bone nut and 30th Anniversary decal. Includes deluxe Limited Edition hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity. Nice and light, 7 pounds 3 ounces.
