Briefly owned and gently used, this D1A is difficult to tell from a brand new guitar. Someone’s getting a deal.

Collings builds monster dreads, and their venerable D1 paired with an Adirondack top has always been at the top of my list. This guitar is customized with a 1.75 nut. Handsome and understated tortoise binding sets off this good looking red spruce top, while the pre-war scalloped bracing, ebony fretboard and an ebony belly bridge give it Collings’ typical impressive volume and projection, yet allow the guitar to be equally responsive to a light touch. Comfortable mod V neck. Dread of a lifetime. Hardshell case. Serial # 24260.
