You don’t have to look further than Keith Richards’ fabled Tele to hear the benefits of a humbucker in the neck position. Here’s a 2019 Fender Custom Shop 51 Nocaster HS with a Duncan 59 humbucker at the neck and handwound 51 Nocaster pickup at the bridge. Done as a NOS (new old stock) finish, the guitar is in excellent condition with just some light wear, and a small ding or two (nothing through the finish). Nicely figured quartersawn neck with the traditional big Nocaster U carve (.950 – 1.00) — not for tiny hands but it delivers the tone like only a big neck can. Medium jumbo frets, vintage wiring with a blender to dial the neck in with the bridge instead of a tone pot and two neck positions, one with the high frequencies slightly rolled off. Terrific Tele with original case and certificate of authenticity. Ash body in Nocaster Blonde and nice and light — 7 pounds 3 ounces.
