Here’s a gently used 2019 Fender Custom Shop 61 Tele relic in Lake Placid Blue. Great guitar.
Warm—a term not usually used in conjunction with a Telecaster—is the only way to describe the feel and sound of the 1961 Relic Telecaster. Celebrating the peak of Fender’s Golden Age, this instrument combines modern features with classic style while adding a few idiosyncratic touches all its own.
With its 9.5”-radius flat-lam AAA rosewood fingerboard and a pair of high-output Texas Special single-coil Telecaster pickups, this guitar has plenty of warmth and authentic Telecaster honk, twang and bite. The two-piece alder body was selected by hand for light weight while the carefully aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows it to ring out with pure tone.
Other notable features include a tinted Heavy Relic quartersawn maple neck with “Oval C”-shaped profile, three-way pickup switch, modern wiring with Greasebucket tone circuit to preserve volume when adjusting the tone control, three-ply nitro shell pickguard, ‘58/’63 bridge with threaded saddles, vintage-style tuning machines with Fender logo, bone nut, and wing string tree. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
