Here is a 1982 Gibson ES-335 Dot that is in nice shape for a 35-year-old instrument. It wears its patina well. The semihollow body is in good structural condition with some play wear; there are some typical surface cracks/checks on the top with the grain which are of little structural concern since that is just the top laminate layer. Shining a bright light into the F-holes reveals no structural cracks in the body. The binding on the fretboard shows the typical fine binding cracks perpendicular to the frets. There is some light oxidation on the pickup covers and other hardware. Pickups sound really good — these are likely the original Tim Shaw pickups — and the pots and controls work fine. Action is good and the guitar plays nicely. Weighs in at 8 3/4 pounds. Hardshell case with blue interior; the case is in good shape and solid but the hardware (latches etc.) is rusty, likely from storage.
Condition: Very good; Body: Maple laminate; Color: Natural blonde; Pickups: PAF; Scale: 24.75; Nut: 1.707; Price: $2795
