Here’s a preowned Gibson Custom Shop Hummingbird in their ebony finish. Gibson does not usually offer the Hummingbird in black to lefties, so this is a nice find. Owned briefly, and played lightly, in great shape except for a light rub mark on the back which may (or may not) polish out. Real nice, one of the better Hummingbirds I’ve had the pleasure of playing.

Introduced in 1960 as Gibson’s first square shouldered acoustic, the Hummingbird was embraced by everyone from Keith Richards to Gram Parsons and quickly became a staple in folk, country and rock. I love the short 24.75 scale on this guitar, the bass is big and round and the guitar has that unmistakable Gibson sound. Sitka top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood bridge and fretboard, parallelogram block inlays, and a rare custom ordered gloss ebony finish. Grover tuners, hide glue neck joint, Grover tuners, an LR Baggs Element pickup onboard, and a hardshell case. Built by the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. A classic.
