The 2018 Gibson J-15 is hand-built in Bozeman, Montana with the same time-tested luthiery techniques that make Gibson guitars sought-after instruments. This impressive guitar features a dovetail neck-to-body joint secured with hide glue, scalloped bracing, and a hand sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer finish. From its initial concept, the designers at Gibson wanted the J-15 to feature a unique combination of North American tonewoods, including walnut back and sides topped by Sitka spruce. The outcome was a classic full-bodied tone with a slightly different sonic result — a result that players of the new J-15 agree is warm, resonant, and full. Paired with Gibson’s scalloped bracing and short-scale neck, the J-15 rewards you with an easy playing feel and a phenomenal amount of natural acoustic projection.
