Here’s a 2016 Gibson Standard Historic 1958 Les Paul in a faded tobacco burst, nice light weight (8 pounds 5 ounces), Custom Buckers, fat neck, great tone. These guitars are, thankfully, a return to the specs of the previous 2013-2014 Historics minus the expensive True Historic pricetag but with the 2013-14 specs — long tenon neck, hot hide glue neck joint, no-tubing truss rod, Kluson tuners and solid Indian rosewood fretboards. Serial numbers now start with an R. Lifton style case, hangtags and certificate of authenticity.
