Here’s a stunner of a one-of-a-kind Martin Custom Shop build from 2014. Start with a 000 body size and regular OM scale, topped with Adirondack spruce with aging toner and a satin finish, bound front and back in quilted maple with a 30 style multicolor rope top inlay, a Style 45 rosette, and leave off the pickguard. Back, sides and headplate are gorgeously figured cocobolo. Block Martin inlay. The neck has a low profile carve with an ebony fretboard and Style 42 inlays in abalone. Fishman F1 electronics onboard with built-in tuner. 30 style belly drop-in saddle, bone nut and bridge pins, and nickel Grover tuners. Stunning guitar with the powerful voice you would expect from cocobolo. Condition is excellent overall, the satin finish has worn a bit shiny in places, and there is a ding or two, but overall for its age in great shape. The Custom Shop estimates a build like this today would be in excess of $10,000. With original hardshell case and Martin Custom Shop spec sheet. You will not find another one of these out there.
