When a good customer (thanks Ryan) shared these guitars with me I was intrigued and promptly ordered two. Patrick James Eggle builds wonderful boutique instruments in his shop in Oswestry, U.K. He uses the best of everything — Callaham and Kluson hardware, Gotoh tuners, true lefty pots, Jescar 55090 frets (6105 found on Fenders and Gibsons) — and does a beautiful thin open pore nitro finish on the swamp ash bodies for great tone on a very lightweight guitar. This example, in white blonde with grainfill —  is under 6.5 pounds. The pickguard is brass with a unique hand patina. Patrick reverses the control plate to make the volume pot more accessible for swells. Neck is roasted AAA curly maple with a comfortable soft V profile, contoured heel and rosewood fingerboard. Artists who play Eggle guitars include Tommy Iommi , Albert Lee and Rory Gallagher. Handsome grey hardshell case. Just a terrific guitar. Very tempted to keep one for myself. (And maybe I will so hurry before I change my mind ; )
