Patrick James Eggle builds wonderful boutique instruments in his shop in Oswestry, U.K. He uses the best of everything — Callaham and Kluson hardware, Gotoh tuners, true lefty pots, Jescar 55090 frets (6105 found on Fenders and Gibsons) — and does a beautiful thin open pore nitro finish on the swamp ash bodies for great tone on a very lightweight guitar. This example, in black with white grainfill — is just under 7 pounds. The pickguard is brass with a unique hand patina. Neck is roasted AAA curly maple with a comfortable soft V profile and contoured heel. Patrick also reverses the control plate to make the volume pot more accessible for swells. Artists who play Eggle guitars include Tommy Iommi , Albert Lee and Rory Gallagher. Handsome grey hardshell case. Just a terrific guitar. Very tempted to keep one for myself. (And maybe I will so hurry before I change my mind ; )
