They don’t come any rarer than this one … a one-of-a-kind lefthanded Paul Reed Smith Private Stock 513. All the woods were hand picked from the Private Stock Wood Library. Spectacular buckeye burl maple top over a black limba body and set black limba neck. Incredible detailing in the buckeye burl, and complimented with a satin nitro finish. Hardware is smoked black. Matching black limba backplates on the back. The neck and ebony veneered headstock are bound in buckeye burl maple; brush stroke bird inlays and Private Stock eagle are also done in buckeye burl maple with a single PRS “moon” inlay at the first fret.  Phase III locking tuners with ebony buttons, Gen III tremolo with locking saddles.

The 513 stands for 5 pickups, 13 sounds … this is accomplished via two sliding switches with a master volume and tone control. The upper slider is a 5-way switch that functions as you would expect — bridge, bridge + middle, middle, middle + neck, neck. The second slider is a 3-way switch … it gives you the pickups in single coil mode, “clear” humbucking and “heavy” humbucking. To say there is a wide variety of tones in the guitar is an understatement … set your rig so it has a little breakup in single coil mode, and use the “clear” and “heavy” modes to drive it harder. Great in-between tones as well as traditional humbucker sounds.

A work of art and a true lifetime guitar.
