Briefly owned and gently played 2022 PRS Private Custom 24-08 Floyd in near mint condition.

One of my favorite things to do is help customers spec guitars through the Private Stock program. This is definitely one of the more unique builds we’ve done. We started with a nice variation of the guitar that put PRS on the map, the Custom 24. This is a Custom 24-08, which offers 8 distinct sounds through individual coil tap toggles — each pickup can be split independently, and you can also have both pickups as single coils, something you can’t do on a regular Custom 24. We made it a fat back body (McCarty thickness), added a lefty Floyd Rose bridge with locking nut and a wide thin neck carve. The body is African ribbon mahogany with matching back plates, the top is maple, neck is Peruvian mahogany, and the pickups are 58/15 LTs.

It’s the finish that really sets this guitar apart … the buyer chose a hand laid silver leaf finish for the top, with ebony binding and high-gloss nitro. The bird and eagle inlays are done in silver leaf with white mother of pearl outlines, and the fretboard, headstock and truss rod cover have white mother of pearl purfling to match. This gives the inlays a super cool 3D look.

The neck is finished in satin nitro. Tuners have ivoroid buttons. A truly unique guitar that turned as many heads at PRS while it was being built as it will in your hands. This guitar would cost thousands more to build new, and PRS does not currently offer some of these features as they have recently streamlined the Private Stock model offerings. A stunning guitar.
