This lefty Schenk GK is a concert-sized guitar with a volume and voice that belies its size. It produces a strong fundamental tone that is rich with overtones and rings forever. As one of Rod’s Player Series instruments, it features a beautifully figured koa back and sides, an Englemann top with ebony binding, maple purfling, bone nut and saddle, Maccasar ebony headstock backplate with a ducktail volute, Gotoh 510 tuners, koa rosette, koa logo headstock inlay, Rod’s proprietary trussrod and a Venetian cutaway. The guitar has remarkable sustain and volume in a comfortable package that is the size of a mini jumbo. Rod performed an engineering analysis on truss rod and bracing for California luthier Kevin Ryan, and built his first guitar in 2005. Handbuilt in Washington state, Rod Schenk’s guitars have won multiple Acoustic Guitar Magazine Player’s Choice Gold awards, and it’s easy to see why. Hardshell case included.
