Collings
OM2H Traditional

Collings' OM2H has long been a favorite of mine, and here is the latest iteration, which Collings calls the Traditional. I'm impressed. Takes a great OM and makes it even better and more responsive. I'll let Collings describe it: The Traditional or "T" Series guitars reflect Bill Collings' return to his guitar making roots and offer a new tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound. Each T Series guitar is built using animal protein glue and a very thin all nitrocellulose lacquer finish, making them exceptionally dynamic and responsive. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection. These new [...]

Collings
470 JL Julian Lage

Here is a brand new Collings 470 JL Julian Lage signature model, in a lightly aged antiqued blonde finish. The guitar is a true hollowbody with trestle block construction, with a thin nitrocellulose lacquer hand-rubbed to a gently worn patina (no dings or dents). Pickups are Ron Ellis Ellisonic, and a Bigsby vibrato completes the [...]

Collings
I-30 LC

Here's a new Collings I-30 LC in faded cherry. Wonderful guitars, light as feathers, with true hollow construction and trestle bracing. C shape neck profile. Same size as the venerable I-35 -- slightly smaller and more comfortable than an ES-335. They just don’t get any better. Lifetime warranty from Collings and a deluxe Ameritage hardshell [...]

Collings
290 DC Custom

Here's Collings' venerable 290 in a custom natural mahogany finish with tortoise pickguard and truss rod cover. This is a dual cutaway example with two ThroBak 55/56 SB P90s. Collings calls this guitar a modern-day tribute to the original workingman’s rock ‘n roll guitar. You’ll just call it a great guitar. Solid select mahogany body [...]

Collings
D2H

Here's a brand new Collings D2H. Nobody makes a more powerful dread than Collings does. I'll let Collings describe it: "The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, we bring a new tonal clarity to the [...]

Collings
002H 14-fret

If I had to choose one acoustic guitar, it would be a 14-fret 00 ... plenty of volume and low end, but small enough to be comfortable on the couch and on the stage.  Here is a beautiful example of Collings' take on it. Nitro finish, short scale, with a bone nut, pre-war scalloped X [...]

Collings
OM1 Julian Lage

Here's a new Collings OM1 Julian Lage signature model, hide glue, ebony bridge and fingerboard, bone saddle, relic Waverly tunes with vintage oval buttons. I'll let Collings describe it: When Bill Collings first met the brilliant young jazz musician Julian Lage, in 2014, the two began a series of in-depth conversations about their respective crafts. [...]

Collings
I-35 LC Vintage

Here's a new Collings I-35 LC Vintage in aged jet black. I’ve been lucky enough to play some very fine electric guitars, but in my mind there isn’t a finer semi-hollow guitar out there than the Collings I-35. And now they've made it even better: Collings sez: "After several years in development and numerous prototype [...]

Collings
D1A

Collings builds monster dreads, and their venerable D1 paired with an Adirondack top has always been at the top of my list. Handsome and understated tortoise binding sets off this good looking red spruce top, while the pre-war scalloped bracing, ebony fretboard and an ebony belly bridge give it Collings’ typical impressive volume and projection, [...]

Collings
OM2H

Collings' OM2H has long been a favorite of mine; herringbone trim and a gorgeous set of east Indian rosewood. Responsive, great projection and the usual impeccable Collings build. Lifetime warranty and hardshell case.  I'll let Collings describe it: OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when [...]
