I was super excited to become a dealer and order these Iris guitars ... hand made in Vermont under the seasoned watch of Adam Buchwald (formerly with Froggy Bottom) and Dale Fairbanks (Fairbanks Guitars), simply yet elegantly appointed with satin finishes, with a nod to vintage depression era flattop tones and at a very reasonable price point. This is the DF model (named after Dale Fairbanks) a slope shouldered dread. This one is customized as a 12-fret deep body Smeck burst with a 1 3/4 nut and firestripe pickguard. Beautiful sunburst. Scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing, a bolt-on mortise and tenon neck, 2 7/32 bridge spacing, Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, open pore sating nitrocellulose finish, bone nut and saddle and Golden Age relic brass tuners. With TKL case. Here is a nice demo from The North American Guitar:Condition: New; Top: Sitka spruce; Back and sides: Mahogany; Neck: Mahogany; Nut: 1 3/4; Width: 16 1/4; Depth: 4 7/8; Scale: 25; Binding: Ivoroid; Purfling: b/w/b; Rosette: ivoroid; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

In the formative years following the Stratocaster's groundbreaking debut in 1954, it saw slight tweaks and modifications that helped firmly establish its legacy as the finest electric guitar ever made. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster has some cool, rare features that we feel represent the best of the origins of the Strat® and gives you a glimpse into the innovations that were crucial in its development. The NOS flash-coat lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe and shows some of the natural grain through its finish. The neck features a vintage 7.25"-9.5" compound radius, which we found on some rare examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models. It also features medium vintage frets, which are slightly larger than standard vintage size and very comfortable to play. Other features found on this guitar include Closet Classic hardware, a 2-piece ash body, tinted maple rift-sawn neck with a '54 "U"-shaped neck profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound '55 Strat pickups with transitional '54 covers, 5-way switch, vintage wiring, hardtail bridge, bone nut, round string tree and vintage-style tuning machines. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster is the legendary guitar you know and love with some rare "what could have been" flair. Includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity. Condition: NOS; Body: Ash; Neck: Rift sawn maple, 54 U (.900-.970), 7-25-9.5 compound radius; Nut: 1.650; Color: White Blonde; Pickups: Custom Shop handwound 55 Strat; Scale: 25.5; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

SaleHere's a brand-new National Resophonic El Trovador, single cone resonator in mahogany. National's build quality is, as always, off the charts and I love these round neck resonators that are equally at home with a slide or a flatpick. I'll let National describe it: "Its Spanish name translates as “The Troubador,” and this wood-body single-cone National has been popular with musicians ever since its debut in 1932. This reissue was designed in collaboration with renowned blues and swing guitarist Mike Dowling. Like the original, our El Trovador features a large, four-inch-deep body constructed of mahogany — a wood famed for its sonic properties. A wooden soundwell houses the resonator, adding to the unique sound projection. The body is bound in multi-layer celluloid, with a matching purfling border around the classic coverplate. An ebony fretboard is mated to the solid mahogany neck, which is capped by a rosewood headstock overlay. With its rich, deep, warm tone, our El Trovador is one of National’s most popular guitars among troubadors everywhere." Condition: New; Top: Mahogany; Back and sides: Mahogany; Neck: mahogany, ebony fretboard, ivoroid binding; Resonator: single; Bridge: Biscuit; Nut: 1 3/4 bone; Depth: 4; Scale: 25 21/32; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

SaleA wonderful lefty offering from Duesenberg, featuring a chambered alder body, set neck and Duesenberg’s wonderful Domino P-90 at the neck and Grand Vintage humbucker at the bridge. Tones to die for … the middle position in particular is wonderful. Impeccable build, high-quality gig-bag, and even a set of Duesenberg band-aids because you will, in fact, play until your fingers bleed. Duesenberg sez: "The Caribou is a chambered, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar, featuring a Cat Eye F-Hole and a 647mm scale. It is also available as a 12-string edition. The Caribou is made from solid Alder in which we route large sound chambers. The body is then fitted with a flat maple top featuring a modern Cat Eye F-Hole. The large sound chambers make this construction a crossover between a solidbody and a semi-hollow construction, resulting in a unique tonal character and resonance. The Caribou is fitted with our proven Duesenberg pickup combination, comprising of the classicly wound GrandVintage humbucker for the bridge and the warm and creamy Domino P90 singlecoil. The middle position of both pickups features a special wiring, which splits certain low end frequencies out of the humbucker's signal, resulting in an open and extremely versatile addition to your pallet of sounds. The Caribou 12-string edition is equipped with two Domino P90 singlecoils. All our instruments are fitted with our own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. We design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates. All our fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for. Additionally, our Diamond Deluxe Tremola proved to be one of the best of its kind, providing buttery operation and outstanding tuning stability." Condition: New; Body: Alder, chambered; Color: Narvik blue, black back; Radius: 12", Pickups: Duesenberg; Scale: 25.5

Here is a very rare 1976 Travis Bean TB1000 Artist guitar, one of, as far as I can discern, just four original lefty Beans ever built. (There was also a lefty bass made.) Built with machined aluminum necks with the pickups attached directly to the metal, these guitars are noted for their sustain and, of course, stability. They are also on the heavy side, which also adds to the sustain. The Artist model features a carved top (the Standard was a slab). The 1000 guitars have humbuckers, as opposed to the single coils found on the 500s. Scale is 25.5 and radius is 12. Terrific guitar. Doubt you'll see another vintage lefty Bean out there. This guitar was built for a touring Australian musician and includes the original case, plastered with stickers from his band. It is in perfect playing condition, the koa body bear some road wear, as you might expect, there was a split in the wood which was repaired (and not uncommon for solid koa bodies) ... since the guitar is basically aluminum from the bridge to the headstock, the split had no effect on the structure of the instrument. Rare find and a great guitar. Notable Bean players include Jerry Garcia (1975-77), Keith Richard, Ronnie Wood, Slash, Ace Frehley, Stanley Jordan, Joe Perry and John Mayer.

Here's a beautiful Rick Turner Guitars Renaissance RS6 steel string electric acoustic. I ordered this one with a 1 3/4 nut and satin finish. The guitar has some nicely figured mahogany back and sides, terrific top, mahogany neck and an ipe (Brazilian walnut) fingerboard. The back of the headstock is signed by the late legendary Rick Turner himself. If you play acoustic guitar live, you're familiar with the challenges of getting a natural acoustic tone amplified to stage volumes without being plagued by feedback. All the mics, preamps and EQs in the world are rarely up to dealing with a loud monitor pointing at your soundhole. The thinline RS6 is built like an acoustic but has a mahogany center block to resist feedback. A Turner Timberline bridge pickup feeds a full-spectrum signal to an 18-volt D-TAR preamp with graduated volume and tone controls. The preamp runs off two AA batteries, easily accessible via the back panel. I have tested this at loud monitor volumes and it works great straight into the board. Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) loves his Turner guitars and plays a Renaissance live. These guitars also sound great through a conventional guitar amp.
With locking tuners, Access padded case and Timberline electronics.
Condition: New; Top: Mahogany; Back and sides: Mahogany; Neck: Mahogany with ipe (brazilian walnut) fingerboard; Nut: 1 3/4; Scale: 25.5; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course) -
Here's a new Fender Custom Shop 58 Strat Journeyman relic in an eye-catching Inca silver finish, lightly reliced, with Custom Shop 50s Strat pickups, a comfortable 10/56 V neck carve (.880 and .980), 9.5 radius, vintage upgrade 45085 frets. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity. Terrific Strat. Note that the lighting I use tends to over emphasize the checking on metallic finishes, so the shot of the two guitars side by side is more indicative. As is this:
Condition: Light (Journeyman) relic; Body: Alder; Neck: maple, 10/56 V profile, 9.5 radius; Nut: 1.650; Color: Inca Silver; Pickups: Custom Shop 50s Strat; Scale: 25.5; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)
