Here is an extremely rare one-off Fender Custom Shop version of the original Eric Clapton Artist signature Stratocaster. The Custom Shop did not start offering the black Clapton guitars until 2004, and a lefty version of the original Artist guitar was never made available. This guitar was commissioned through the Custom Shop and built by Master Builder Art Esparza, as evidenced by his signature on the neck pocket with a date of 1-6-91. Finished in “7UP” candy apple green with gold hardware, the guitar plays beautifully and has the signature Clapton booster which can be used to push the front of your favorite tube amp and Eric’s hi-pass low-pass tone control which gives you everything from shimmering bell tones to his signature “woman” tone with the highs rolled off. Clapton signature on the front of the headstock, Custom Shop stamp on the back of the headstock and neck heel and pocket. Great guitar for the collector or Clapton fan. Has non-Fender hardshell case, a new tweed case is available separately if desired.
