SaleHere's a 2022 Collings OM2H, standard specs (see below). I would categorize this one as a "player" guitar as opposed to a collector guitar ... it's in perfect shape structurally, we did a fresh setup and fret dress, sounds and plays terrific as all Collings do, but well loved and played with some play wear on it, a few small dings in the top, some light scratches, but overall excellent condition. Has a Baggs Anthem SL installed. With original hardshell case, also showing some miles. If you want a great acoustic that you can take to a gig or just have laying around without stressing about it being kept in mint condition, this is your guitar. Collings' OM2H has long been a favorite of mine; herringbone trim and a gorgeous set of east Indian rosewood. Responsive, great projection and the usual impeccable Collings build. Lifetime warranty and hardshell case. I'll let Collings describe it:Condition: Very good; Top: Sitka; Back and sides: East Indian rosewood; Neck: Mahogany, modified V, ebony fingerboard; Nut: 1 11/16; Width: 15; Depth: 4 1/8; Scale: 25 1/2; Binding: Ivoroid with herringbone; Rosette: b/w/b; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response.

John Mayer has been playing Martin guitars for decades now, and his signature OMJM model is my current pick for an OM as comfortable on the couch as it is on stage. An Englemann spruce top with scalloped X bracing over East Indian rosewood back and sides gives the guitar a lively balanced tone, with herringbone trim, antique toner and and abalone rosette, plus diamond and square inlays with John's signature making for an elegant yet understated appearance. Comfortable low profile neck carve with a volute, drop-in saddle, butterbean tuners, and John's choice of a simple Fishman Gold Plus Natural I pickup allows your dynamics and picking technique to control the output. The guitar sounds great plugged in. Nicely embroidered hardshell case completes the package. Martin says: "In light of his ever-expanding reputation and fan base, Martin collaborated with John Mayer on the creation of a second namesake guitar, one with many of the same attributes as his first OM-28JM Limited Edition, but one that would be more affordable and more widely available." Condition: New; Top: Englemann spruce; Back and sides: East Indian rosewood; Neck: Select hardwood, Low Profile carve; Nut: 1 11/16; Scale: 25.4; Binding: Antique white; Purfling: Bold Herringbone; Rosette: Style 45 abalone; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

Here's a stunner of a one-of-a-kind Martin Custom Shop build from 2014. Start with a 000 body size and regular OM scale, topped with Adirondack spruce with aging toner and a satin finish, bound front and back in quilted maple with a 30 style multicolor rope top inlay, a Style 45 rosette, and leave off the pickguard. Back, sides and headplate are gorgeously figured cocobolo. Block Martin inlay. The neck has a low profile carve with an ebony fretboard and Style 42 inlays in abalone. Fishman F1 electronics onboard with built-in tuner. 30 style belly drop-in saddle, bone nut and bridge pins, and nickel Grover tuners. Stunning guitar with the powerful voice you would expect from cocobolo. Condition is excellent overall, the satin finish has worn a bit shiny in places, and there is a ding or two, but overall for its age in great shape. The Custom Shop estimates a build like this today would be in excess of $10,000. With original hardshell case and Martin Custom Shop spec sheet. You will not find another one of these out there. Condition: Excellent; Top: Adirondack spruce; Back and sides: Cocobolo; Neck: Mahogany, low profile neck; Nut: 1 3/4; Scale: 25.375; Binding: quilted maple; Top inlay: Style 30 multicolor rope; Rosette: Style 45; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

The 1929-00 is probably my favorite Santa Cruz guitar ... small bodied and comfortable on the couch, lighter than a feather, simple elegant aesthetics and a warm mahogany voice. Here's a rare opportunity to get yours.
A few years ago, Santa Cruz changed its business model to all custom guitar builds, an innovative strategy that allowed the buyer to choose a model then customize woods, finishes, inlays, tuners, etc. to their heart's content, at a single price. Including everything at one price meant, naturally, a higher price. For their 50th anniversary, Santa Cruz has "reissued" some of their favorite guitars in their original specifications, at a very attractive price and substantial savings.
Welcomed internationally as both timely and timeless, the 1929-00 has received sparkling reviews from the most prestigious publications in France, Germany, UK and the US. This instrument’s design pays homage to the simple and elegant instruments made for players enduring the Great Depression of 1929. Vintage inspired appointments include scalloped bracing, a period correct script style logo done tastefully in Ivoroid and beautifully executed Ebony pyramid bridge, bridge pins, tuner buttons, head-plate and fretboard. The rosette is an exercise in austere elegance with a rich tortoise ring nestled in a vintage ivoroid border. Ameritage case. Condition: New; Top: Mahogany; Back and sides: Mahogany; Neck: Mahogany,ebony fingerboard,; Nut: 1 3/4; Width: 14.375; Depth: 4; Scale: 24.75; Binding: Mahogany; Purfling: Black single line; Rosette: Ivoroid/tortoise/ivoroid; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course) -
Serial #36596 Condition: New; Top: Sitka spruce; Back and sides: Honduran mahogany; Neck: Mahogany, custom carve, ebony fingerboard; Nut: 1 11/16; Width: 15; Depth: 4 1/8; Scale: 25 1/2; Binding: Ivoroid with herringbone; Rosette: b/w/b; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)Here's a new Collings OM1 T Julian Lage signature model, hide glue, ebony bridge and fingerboard, bone saddle, relic Waverly tunes with vintage buttons. These guitars are so good. I'll let Collings describe it: "When Bill Collings first met the brilliant young jazz musician Julian Lage, in 2014, the two began a series of in-depth conversations about their respective crafts. Lage's profound insights as a guitarist would play a key role in the creation of Collings’ T (Traditional) Series guitars. This rare collaboration, which continued right up until Bill’s passing, in July, 2017, has yielded another exceptional new guitar with an old soul. We are proud to present a highly personal extension of the T Series: the Julian Lage Signature OM1. Though Lage’s guitar shares the same foundational specs as the OM1 T, it is unique in some key ways. Its neck feels like no other Collings guitar. That’s because it’s modeled after Lage’s cherished 1939 Martin 000-18. This pre-war gem is heard on the guitarist’s 2015 solo album, “World’s Fair,” and was his main touring acoustic for years. The 000-18’s neck—which was of course originally hand-shaped and sanded—has a distinctive taper altered by decades of wear. For Lage, this particular neck had come to feel like home. Through careful analysis and digitization of its unique dimensions, we were able to precisely recreate its worn-in, asymmetric feel on his signature model. We extended the fretboard from the original short scale to our standard 25 ½" length for slightly greater presence and note definition.Lage has an affinity both tonally and aesthetically for vintage guitars whose finishes have mellowed after years of playing. To recreate this effect we initially considered a varnish, but to achieve the ideal combination of a thin finish application and a vintage aesthetic, we landed on a custom satin lacquer. This new finish offering not only feels and looks right to Lage, he finds it has the same inherent openness of tone that is present in the best pre-war instruments. With his typical descriptive eloquence, Lage characterizes his signature model as a “lovingly neutral” guitar. It has a remarkably even response between registers. It’s not an empty flatterer, but an instrument that rewards you when you’re playing your best. In this way, Lage, whose own education is unending, sees the guitar as a teacher. Lage’s signature model incorporates a script peghead logo not seen on a new Collings instrument in decades. This is the inlay that Bill hand-cut some 30 years ago when he started out in a tiny shop in Austin, Texas. We see this as a loving tribute to our late leader, who in his final project was able to realize the perfect new steel-string for one of today’s most exacting guitarists."

Here's a rare 2017 Gibson Limited Edition Big Sky Blue Hummingbird. The guitar is in nice condition, with some light play wear, and what appears to be two small finish checks on either side of the endpin that show up as white lines (see photos). These checks do not emit any light and the underside of the top looks fine. Equipped with Baggs electronics, with the end pin installed separate from the jack. Original hardshell case. Let's just say you are unlikely to encounter another lefty like this one. Make a statement on the stage or your couch. Introduced in 1960 as Gibson’s first square shouldered acoustic, the Hummingbird was embraced by everyone from Keith Richards to Gram Parsons and quickly became a staple in folk, country and rock. I love the short 24.75 scale on this guitar, the bass is big and round and the guitar has that unmistakable Gibson sound. Sitka top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood bridge and fretboard, parallelogram block inlays, and that bright blue finish. Grover tuners, hide glue neck joint, Grover tuners and a hardshell case. Built by the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. A classic. Condition: Very good; Top: Sitka; Back and sides: Mahogany; Neck: Mahogany, rosewood fretboard; Nut: 1.725; Width: 16; Depth: 4 3/4; Scale: 24.75; Binding: Ivoroid; Purfling: w/b/w; Rosette: w/b/w;

I haven't had the good fortune to play an 88-year-old D-28 in person, but this new Martin Authentic 1937 VTS aged D-28 is the next best thing, and it is a heck of a dread. Feels old and worn in, sounds amazing. Martin says: "If you're looking for a new guitar that looks and sounds like you've been playing it for 80 years, you have just found your holy grail of guitars. 1937 was an excellent year for guitars, with a perfect storm of craftsmanship, innovation, and materials. The Aged version of the D-28 Authentic 1937 includes all of the goodness that comes with Martin's Authentic Series instruments, like hide glue construction and hand-scalloped X-bracing. Plus, it adds the VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) that ages the wood to replicate the sound of a vintage Martin. Martin's craftspeople can recreate the pleasing visual aesthetics of a vintage guitar and reproduce the particular tones previously reserved for vintage instruments. Now Martin has reintroduced a more accurate body profile based on dreadnought shapes from the early Golden Era of Martin's history. The result is a tactile, visual, and auditory experience that will transport you all the way back to the 1930s. And we know you’re going to like it there." Condition: New (aged); Top: Adirondack spruce; Back and sides: Guatemalan rosewood; Neck: Mahogany, Authentic 1937; Nut: 1 3/4; Scale: 25.4; Binding: Antique white; Purfling: Herringbone; Rosette: Multistripe; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

Here's a brand new Collings D2H. Nobody makes a more powerful dread than Collings does. I'll let Collings describe it:
"The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, we bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference." -
I haven't had the good fortune to play an 88-year-old D-18 in person, but this new Martin Authentic 1937 VTS D-18 is the next best thing, and it is a heck of a dread. Sounds amazing. I also stock the aged version, this one is non-aged (cosmetically). Martin says: "1937 was an excellent year for guitars, with a perfect storm of craftsmanship, innovation, and materials. This Authentic Series replication of a 1937 D-18 stays true to the original with hide glue construction and historically accurate detailing. This guitar features genuine mahogany back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top, and it includes an Authentic circa 1937 bracing pattern. I could not resist ordering this Iris with a beautiful limited edition hand painted Sarah Ryan top (one of 10 produced and almost certainly the only lefty). As Iris says, "This year Sarah took inspiration from the forests of our beautiful homeland of Vermont. The hand-painted details include what you might find on a hike through the Green Mountain State, such as: oak leaves with acorns, alder pinecones, trillium and a black bear (you never know!)." This is an OG model, customized with a 1 3/4 nut. Scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing, a bolt-on mortise and tenon neck, 2 7/32 bridge spacing, Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, open pore sating nitrocellulose finish, bone nut and saddle and Golden Age relic brass tuners. With TKL case. Iris says: “The original Iris that put us on the map: The OG Model. It has a comfortable 25” scale and an equally comfy C-shape neck.” ”Overall, it has a warm and dry voice, with an impressive midrange response. It takes equally well to being strummed with a pick or fingerpicked, in standard or open tunings, and it has a generous amount of headroom and projection.” — Acoustic Guitar, July/Aug 2019” Iris says: "This mid-thirties style guitar, with its short scale, is a wonderful complement to our line of small bodied Iris." Here is a nice demo of an OG with a previous Sarah Ryan design:Condition: New; Top: Sitka spruce; Back and sides: Mahogany; Neck: Mahogany; Nut: 1 3/4; Width: 14.5; Depth: 4 5/8; Scale: 25; Binding: Ivoroid; Purfling: b/w/b; Rosette: ivoroid; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

I was super excited to become a dealer and order these Iris guitars ... hand made in Vermont under the seasoned watch of Adam Buchwald (formerly with Froggy Bottom) and Dale Fairbanks (Fairbanks Guitars), simply yet elegantly appointed with satin finishes, with a nod to vintage depression era flattop tones and at a very reasonable price point.
This is the MS-00,with a black top and firestripe pickguard, designed with the aid of Mark Stutman. Billy Strings has turned the bluegrass world on its ear the last few years, and I've been looking forward to sampling his signature model. Great guitar. Martin says: "Inspired by Billy Strings' prized 1940 D-28, the Martin D-28 Billy Strings brings a modern twist to a classic pre-war design, incorporating features tailored to Billy's electrifying playing style. This signature Dreadnought showcases a unique 25" scale length, reducing string tension for fast, intricate playing and expressive bends – perfectly suited for Billy’s rapid-fire licks. With a custom nut width that’s slightly wider than his pre-war Martin and a modified low oval satin neck, it offers enhanced comfort and speed, ideal for players who crave agility up and down the neck. The solid East Indian rosewood back and sides and spruce top deliver a full, resonant tone with rich bass, while the bold herringbone trim, antique toner, and antique white binding add vintage flair. Nickel enclosed gear tuners, exclusive to Martin, and an ebony fingerboard with abalone diamond and square inlay round out the guitar’s looks and performance. It’s an ideal balance of traditional craftsmanship and modern playability, much like Billy’s genre-defying style. Each guitar features a custom paper label with his pre-printed signature and graphic. Here is a brand new Martin D-28, lefthanded, of course. The quintessential dreadnought. I loved mine until I replaced it with a D-41 Special back in 2008. Martin sez: "The Martin D-28 has been the quintessential workhorse of music legends like Hank Williams, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and so many more. It’s no surprise because the D-28 is crafted with East Indian rosewood, which is very resonant and offers deep bass and rich overtones. It is a well-balanced guitar for all playing styles. It also combines vintage appointments like open gear tuners, an aged toner top, antique white accents, and a faux tortoise pickguard with a modern neck profile for a fast, comfortable playing experience." Here is a beautiful new left-handed Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe ... Martin took the Standard D-28 and added, among other things, a VTS top, maple binding, Adirondack spruce forward shifted X bracing, gold hardware, dovetail neck joint and protein glue construction, plus a new neck carve and a stylish abalone Martin logo. Wonderful guitar. Martin sez: "The D-28 Modern Deluxe is a new take on Martin Vintage. This guitar is packed with custom features and modern technology that you have to see, feel, and hear for yourself. The vintage appointments include a spruce VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) top, a dovetail neck joint, and natural protein glue construction that give it the rich, fully aged Martin tone that has inspired generations. The look is unlike anything in our production line to date with European flamed maple binding, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a unique 1930s style script logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock. Some ultra-modern features include Liquidmetal® bridge pins with red dots and a composite carbon fiber bridgeplate that boosts volume. And we’ve included a new neck shape that is slightly asymmetrical for maximum hand comfort up and down the fretboard. This guitar is anything but standard." (An amusing aside: A long (long) time ago, a couple of decades before I opened a guitar store, I played my first Martin D-28 at local store. The old, grizzled store owner, said, "Son, anyone who calls himself a guitar player needs to own him a Martin D-28." Then he told me I was a idiot for not learning how to play right handed. So I told him to stuff it and bought mine somewhere else. But I loved my D-28 and would still own it today had I not replaced it with a D-41 Special 17 years ago.)
