Back and neck are mahogany, the fingerboard and headstock overlay is ebony, neck carve is Pattern, with green ripple abalone old school birds. Pickups are the coveted 58/15 LT. 3-way switching with a pull on the tone control for coil tap. The SE Silver Sky is a familiar iteration of the original Silver Sky model that was first introduced with John Mayer in 2018. This workhorse guitar provides ample tone and playability in four distinct colors, delivering looks, feel, and sound. The PRS SE Silver Sky starts with a poplar body, bolt-on maple neck, and maple or rosewood fretboard with PRS trademark bird inlays. The 22-fret, 25.5” scale length neck features the original 635JM carve and an 8.5” fretboard radius, so the PRS SE Silver Sky will feel right at home. Plug it in, and the three single-coil 635JM “S” pick-ups will bark and sing. This guitar is anchored by a two-point steel tremolo, synthetic bone nut, and vintage-style tuners. Other design features include the PRS Silver Sky inverted headstock shape and the PRS double-acting truss rod (accessible from the front of the headstock for ease of use). Under new CBS ownership since the previous year, Fender production was still top notch, and the company was still producing highly sought-after, high-quality instruments. The Custom Shop 1966 Strat Deluxe Closet Classic re-creates the sought after large-headstock Strat in detail, with the perfect customizations for players and aficionados alike. The two-piece select alder body wears a polished but slightly aged Deluxe Closet Classic lacquer finish, while the quartersawn maple neck has a ’66 “oval C” profile, 9.5”-radius round-lam rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium jumbo (6150) frets for classic comfortable play. A wonderful lefty offering from Duesenberg, featuring a chambered alder body, set neck and Duesenberg’s wonderful Domino P-90 at the neck and Grand Vintage humbucker at the bridge. Tones to die for … the middle position in particular is wonderful. Duesenberg sez: "The Caribou is a chambered, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar, featuring a Cat Eye F-Hole and a 647mm scale. It is also available as a 12-string edition. The Caribou is made from solid Alder in which we route large sound chambers. The body is then fitted with a flat maple top featuring a modern Cat Eye F-Hole. The large sound chambers make this construction a crossover between a solidbody and a semi-hollow construction, resulting in a unique tonal character and resonance. The Caribou is fitted with our proven Duesenberg pickup combination, comprising of the classicly wound GrandVintage humbucker for the bridge and the warm and creamy Domino P90 singlecoil. Here is a very rare 1976 Travis Bean TB1000 Artist guitar, one of, as far as I can discern, just four original lefty Beans ever built. (There was also a lefty bass made.) Built with machined aluminum necks with the pickups attached directly to the metal, these guitars are noted for their sustain and, of course, stability. They are also on the heavy side, which also adds to the sustain. The Artist model features a carved top (the Standard was a slab). The 1000 guitars have humbuckers, as opposed to the single coils found on the 500s. Scale is 25.5 and radius is 12. Terrific guitar. Doubt you'll see another vintage lefty Bean out there. This guitar was built for a touring Australian musician and includes the original case, plastered with stickers from his band. It is in perfect playing condition, the koa body bear some road wear, as you might expect, there was a split in the wood which was repaired (and not uncommon for solid koa bodies) ... since the guitar is basically aluminum from the bridge to the headstock, the split had no effect on the structure of the instrument. Rare find and a great guitar. Notable Bean players include Jerry Garcia (1975-77), Keith Richard, Ronnie Wood, Slash, Ace Frehley, Stanley Jordan, Joe Perry and John Mayer. -
Here's a new Fender Custom Shop 58 Strat Journeyman relic in an eye-catching Inca silver finish, lightly reliced, with Custom Shop 50s Strat pickups, a comfortable 10/56 V neck carve (.880 and .980), 9.5 radius, vintage upgrade 45085 frets. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity. Terrific Strat.
