In the formative years following the Stratocaster's groundbreaking debut in 1954, it saw slight tweaks and modifications that helped firmly establish its legacy as the finest electric guitar ever made. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster has some cool, rare features that we feel represent the best of the origins of the Strat® and gives you a glimpse into the innovations that were crucial in its development. The NOS flash-coat lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe and shows some of the natural grain through its finish. The neck features a vintage 7.25"-9.5" compound radius, which we found on some rare examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models. National's build quality is, as always, off the charts and I love these round neck resonators that are equally at home with a slide or a flatpick.
