Here’s a new Huss and Dalton Traditional OM in east Indian rosewood with a thermo-cured (torrified) sitka spruce top, Gotoh 510 tuners and a handsome tweed case. Always one of my favorites OMs, and the build quality is second to none.
Everybody knows that like a fine wine, well-kept acoustic guitars get better with age. The passage of decades cures the wood through exposure to light and air. Huss and Dalton now offers sitka spruce that has been “torrified,” or exposed to a careful heating process that achieves the same results that occur naturally over time. The wood appears darker, as vintage guitars do, and it is lighter and stiffer. But how does it sound? Amazing, in a word.
