• I was super excited to become a dealer and order these Iris guitars ... hand made in Vermont under the seasoned watch of Adam Buchwald (formerly with Froggy Bottom) and Dale Fairbanks (Fairbanks Guitars), simply yet elegantly appointed with satin finishes, with a nod to vintage depression era flattop tones and at a very reasonable price point.

This is the MS-00, in a Cremona burst with an ivoroid pickguard, designed with the aid of Mark Stutman. This one is customized with a 1 3/4 nut. Beautiful sunburst.  Scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing, a bolt-on mortise and tenon neck, 2 7/32 bridge spacing, Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, open pore sating nitrocellulose finish, bone nut and saddle and Golden Age relic brass tuners. With TKL case. Iris says: "This mid-thirties style guitar, with its short scale, is a wonderful complement to our line of small bodied Iris." Here is a nice demo:

  • In the formative years following the Stratocaster's groundbreaking debut in 1954, it saw slight tweaks and modifications that helped firmly establish its legacy as the finest electric guitar ever made. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster has some cool, rare features that we feel represent the best of the origins of the Strat® and gives you a glimpse into the innovations that were crucial in its development. The NOS flash-coat lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe and shows some of the natural grain through its finish. The neck features a vintage 7.25"-9.5" compound radius, which we found on some rare examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models. It also features medium vintage frets, which are slightly larger than standard vintage size and very comfortable to play. Other features found on this guitar include Closet Classic hardware, a 2-piece ash body, tinted maple rift-sawn neck with a '54 "U"-shaped neck profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound '55 Strat pickups with transitional '54 covers, 5-way switch, vintage wiring, hardtail bridge, bone nut, round string tree and vintage-style tuning machines. National Resophonic
    El Trovador

Original price was: $5,000.00.Current price is: $4,500.00.
Here's a brand-new National Resophonic El Trovador, single cone resonator in mahogany. National's build quality is, as always, off the charts and I love these round neck resonators that are equally at home with a slide or a flatpick. I'll let National describe it: "Its Spanish name translates as “The Troubador,” and this wood-body single-cone National has been popular with musicians ever since its debut in 1932. This reissue was designed in collaboration with renowned blues and swing guitarist Mike Dowling. Like the original, our El Trovador features a large, four-inch-deep body constructed of mahogany — a wood famed for its sonic properties. A wooden soundwell houses the resonator, adding to the unique sound projection. The body is bound in multi-layer celluloid, with a matching purfling border around the classic coverplate. An ebony fretboard is mated to the solid mahogany neck, which is capped by a rosewood headstock overlay. With its rich, deep, warm tone, our El Trovador is one of National’s most popular guitars among troubadors everywhere." Collings
    CJ-45 Traditional

Original price was: $7,450.00.Current price is: $5,995.00.
Near-mint and lightly played Collings CJ-45 Traditional. If you can handle the full C carve on it, I can't think of a better slope shoulder dread out there. With original hardshell case. Gorgeous guitar. Opened up and actually better than when it was brand new to my ears. Sounds like a piano. Collings' latest offering is a Traditional update on their terrific slope-shouldered CJ series. Very impressive guitar with some nice touches, including a gold mother of pearl Collings logo, a stout full C neck carve and typical Collings attention to detail. I'll let them describe it: "As with all of our Traditional Series guitars, when it came time to add a “T” designation to our slope-shoulder offerings, we didn’t simply tweak the original; the all-new Collings CJ-45 T is a fully re-imagined instrument that offers a distinct tonal variation when compared to our CJ and CJ-35 models. Strongly vintage-inspired, the body construction has been completely re-engineered, including new bracing carves and patterns. When combined with our latest T-Series neck design and new CJ-45 neck profile, the result showcases a tone that is exceptionally dry and fundamental with the growl and thump sought after in the great slope-shoulder dreads of the Wartime era."
Bracing: Behind the scenes but foundational to an acoustic guitar’s tone is its bracing. While the CJ-45 T shares the same body shape as our other CJ models, its top and back Wartime X-bracing is entirely different in layout, profile, and carve, resulting in a dry and direct fundamental with quick decay that significantly expands the line’s tonal range. Traditional Series Finish: As with every Collings Traditional instrument, the all-nitrocellulose finish on the CJ-45 T is ultra-thin, providing an unmatched response and resonance when paired with its lightweight T-Series build and materials. Flat Back Design: The CJ-45 T incorporates an exceptionally flat back design compared to other Collings flat tops, a feature which enhances the instrument’s direct, forward tone, pronounced midrange, and strongly vintage-inspired voice. Neck Profile: With its full C-shape, the new neck profile on our CJ-45 T is substantial in terms of both feel and its contributions to tone and response while also benefiting from the adjustable flat bar design and construction techniques of our most recent Traditional Series necks. Rosewood Fingerboard: Hand-selected for tonal warmth and vintage vibe, every CJ-45 T features an Indian rosewood fingerboard with elegantly tapered mother-of-pearl long dot inlays. Rosette: Unique to the CJ-45 T are its fully exposed rosette and shortened, 19-fret fingerboard, an aesthetic which makes it instantly recognizable among the Collings lineup.
Serial # 31730 Condition: Near mint; Top: Sitka spruce; Back and sides: Honduran mahogany; Neck: Mahogany, Full C profile, rosewood fingerboard; Nut: 1 3/4; Width: 16; Depth: 4 7/8; Scale: 24 7/8; Binding: Ivoroid; Rosette: b/w/b; Orientation: Lefthanded (of course)

Original price was: $4,325.00.Current price is: $3,460.00.
A wonderful lefty offering from Duesenberg, featuring a chambered alder body, set neck and Duesenberg’s wonderful Domino P-90 at the neck and Grand Vintage humbucker at the bridge. Tones to die for … the middle position in particular is wonderful. Duesenberg sez: "The Caribou is a chambered, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar, featuring a Cat Eye F-Hole and a 647mm scale. It is also available as a 12-string edition. The Caribou is made from solid Alder in which we route large sound chambers. The body is then fitted with a flat maple top featuring a modern Cat Eye F-Hole. The large sound chambers make this construction a crossover between a solidbody and a semi-hollow construction, resulting in a unique tonal character and resonance. The Caribou is fitted with our proven Duesenberg pickup combination, comprising of the classicly wound GrandVintage humbucker for the bridge and the warm and creamy Domino P90 singlecoil. The middle position of both pickups features a special wiring, which splits certain low end frequencies out of the humbucker's signal, resulting in an open and extremely versatile addition to your pallet of sounds. The Caribou 12-string edition is equipped with two Domino P90 singlecoils. All our instruments are fitted with our own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. We design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates. All our fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for. Additionally, our Diamond Deluxe Tremola proved to be one of the best of its kind, providing buttery operation and outstanding tuning stability."
